Carrara marble is a natural stone quarried in Carrara, Italy, prized for its soft white to pale grey background and delicate grey veining. Each piece has its own unique pattern, bringing timeless elegance to worktops, bathroom surfaces, floors and walls. Available in polished or honed finishes, it complements both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Care and maintenance: Carrara marble is porous and sensitive to acids, so it needs regular, gentle care. Clean with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for natural stone. Wipe up spills promptly, particularly wine, coffee, lemon juice and vinegar, which can stain or etch the surface. Avoid acidic cleaners, harsh chemicals and abrasive pads. Use coasters, chopping boards and trivets to protect against marks, scratches and heat. Apply a suitable penetrating sealer as recommended by your stone supplier; sealing helps resist staining but does not prevent acid etching. Over time, marble develops a natural patina, while deeper stains or surface damage may require professional restoration.
