The Customer is responsible for ensuring the specification of the goods are suitable for the area in which the goods are to be installed and the company is not responsible for any problems with installation to which it has no control. The Customer is responsible for checking the accuracy of the Order Form and for ensuring the necessary information is given to the Company to fulfil the contract. The risk (of, for example breakage, loss and damage) in the Goods will pass from us to you on delivery or (if you decide to collect the Goods) point of collection. The ownership of the Goods will not pass to you until we have received payment of the Total Price in full in cleared funds.

Acceptance of Goods

Customers are advised to only commit to an installation schedule once the goods have been received and checked. The company shall not be liable for any costs or losses incurred by the Customer, their agents or any third party due to an installation schedule committed to by the Customer prior to the goods being received and checked.

Care needs to be taken when unpacking the stone as wooded or stone spacers may need to be removed from the packaging before the stone can be lifted out. The stone worktops should always be stacked and stored vertically (on edge) but not on a hard surface as this can cause unnecessary edge chipping.

Signature of any delivery note by a representative of the Customer shall be conclusive proof of delivery. The Customer must inspect the Goods for damages or shortages and advise the company of the same within 72 hours; photographic evidence may be requested in case of damages and replacement Goods may be made available. Installation or fixing, partially or in full, is viewed as acceptance of goods supplied, which means any claims after this stage cannot be accepted. Customer will have no right of cancellation or refund if the Goods on the Order form are made to the Customers specification or other written request.

We ensure that all goods leave our premises in good condition but if you are not satisfied with the goods on arrival, do not accept delivery. In any event, if you are not satisfied with the goods Stonewood will need to be informed in writing within 3 working days and the goods returned in their original condition within 7 days, otherwise you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.

In the event of the Customer not accepting goods within a 2-month period, the Company reserves the right to charge storage and insurance of the goods at the rate of 2% of the total order value per month or part thereof.

Returns & Cancellation

Under the Distance Selling Act 2000, the Customer has the right to cancel the order at any time up to the end of 7 working days after the goods have been delivered, by giving written notice by letter or fax of cancellation to the Company. If the Customer exercises the right of cancellation after the goods have been delivered, the Customer will be responsible for returning the Goods at their own cost. The Customer must insure the Goods being returned and the Goods must be returned complete and as new in their original packaging. The Company will not be responsible for goods that are lost, stolen or damaged in transit. Any damages to returned goods will be deducted from any refund due. Before returning goods the customer must obtain a returns reference from Stonewood and quote the reference when returning the goods.

After the statutory 7-day cancellation period, all refunds are at the total discretion of Stonewood. In such cases, all goods returned after 7 days will incur a re-stocking fee of 25% of the gross value of the Goods as well as a collection/delivery charge where applicable. Customer will have no right of cancellation or refund if the Goods on the order form are made to the Customers specification or other written request. No claims will be considered if goods have been partially or completely fixed or installed.

Fixing Products and Installation

Any advice given by us or our staff relating to fixing products and installation is given in good faith but should be used as a general guide only as we have not carried out a survey of the place of installation of the Goods and therefore cannot be sure that our advice is correct. You may not therefore rely upon this advice. It is your responsibility to purchase the correct fixing products for the environment in which (and in particular the surface upon which) the Goods will be installed. We recommend that you take advice from a professional fitter. We do not offer an installation service and it is your responsibility to ensure a professional fitter is carrying out your installation.

Limitation of liability

For the avoidance of doubt, we will in no event be liable to you unless you are able to demonstrate to our reasonable satisfaction that there was a shortfall or damage to or a defect in the Goods. Our total liability to you (whether in contract, tort, (including negligence and breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation, restitution or otherwise) will be limited to the Price of the Goods. Delivery Charge

The delivery charge quoted is based on the cost of one delivery and Stonewood reserves the right to charge (without further notice) for each additional delivery requested by the customer.

The cost of delivery is in addition to the Price, but included in the Total Price. Delivery Charges vary according to the weight of the items and your postcode within the United Kingdom.

Delivery charges advertised on our website relate to Mainland UK addresses only. For addresses outside Mainland UK, please contact us on 0161 483 9120 to obtain a quotation.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any concerns over the delivery of your goods or would like an update as to the delivery date of your order.

Customers who require delivery to the Scottish Isles, Channel Isles, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland must contact the seller to confirm exact delivery costs. Stonewood cannot process any orders to these areas until a personal delivery quote has been given. As a general guide, there will be an additional charge of £10 per parcel (30kg) and an additional £30 - £40 for pallets.

Method of Delivery

Delivery for basins and small consignments of mosaic tiles will usually be made by a parcel courier and may be by multiple parcels. This is because natural stone products are very heavy and for ease of handling the maximum weight per parcel will be restricted to 20kg. A signature will be required for on delivery of the item(s) and please ensure suitable assistance is available to receive delivery of any heavy goods.

Large consignments of tiles are transported by a National pallet delivery service, using a large lorry with a tail lift. The load will be dropped, at the driver's discretion, to the nearest and safest point to your property. If the customer's driveway or pathway is not suitable for a tail lift, it will be the customers responsibility to organise the labour needed to move the goods to the final delivery point. Delivery charges do not include carrying goods inside or up/down any stairs, as the delivery person is not insured to assist.

If the goods are unable to be delivered, they will be retained by the delivery Company who may charge at additional cost to you for re-delivery.

Wherever possible all furniture (washstands and other large items e.g. baths) will be delivered by a designated independent transport company. A delivery date will be arranged with the customer and the carrier will aim to contact the customer approximately 1 hour before arrival on the agreed date. Wherever possible, a second person (in addition to the driver) will be available to assist with the delivery but as with tile deliveries, the delivery company are only insured to deliver goods to the nearest and safest point at the property. They are not insured to carry goods beyond the and neither Stonewood nor the delivery company accept any responsibility whatsoever, for any injury to persons or damage to property, or belongings within the property if they are asked (and consequently agree) to carry goods beyond the safest point past the threshold of the property.

In unusual circumstances, it may not be possible to deliver furniture/baths by designated carrier and the delivery method, as per large consignments of tiles, will apply.

Special Note

Some of our bedroom furniture is extremely heavy and certain pieces require 3 or even 4 people to assist. but as Stonewood are unable to provide more than 2 people to deliver the goods, the customer is requested to make additional people available to assist with the delivery of heavy goods.

Collection

You may only collect your Goods from our Adlington warehouse by prior arrangement and at an agreed time. Dependant on the nature of the goods, the products may be fork-lift loaded into your vehicle and due to this your vehicle must be capable of being fork-lift loaded (unless otherwise agreed). If you arrange transportation of the Goods, it is at your own risk and we will not accept claims for damage or breakages. Payment can be made on collection.

Care needs to be taken when unpacking the stone as wooded or stone spacers may need to be removed from the packaging before the stone can be lifted out. The stone should always be stacked and stored vertically (on edge) but not on a hard surface as this can cause unnecessary edge chipping.

      • Advantages of Veneered Boards

        The veneered MDF panel from Sheet Materials Wholesale utilises a dimensionally veneered MDF system. Here are the advantages of veneered sheets;

        • Veneered boards are engineered from wood fibres and use resin to bind them together with no added urea-formaldehyde. They provide more stability compared to solid wood and are less vulnerable to fluctuations in humidity and heat. So, unlike solid wood, which bends and warps over time, MDF veneer sheets don’t twist and remain straight throughout their lifespan.
        • Its dimensional stability allows veneered MDF to keep its high fire rating. Besides, it is also highly resistant to microbiological decay and doesn’t absorb water.
        • Environmentally friendly. Unlike wood which uses only 60% of the harvested tree, veneered MDF uses up to 95% of the harvested tree. This because not even the smaller branches and twigs go to waste.
        • The fibreboard sheets have a light surface, and therefore they are effortless to mark and allows visibility of the markings made.
        • MDF veneer sheets are easy to sand and, therefore, easy to use.
        • Veneered boards also allow easy application of glue, screws and paints. As such, you can easily DIY and make your office or domestic furniture.
        • Lastly, the boards can be cut into different shapes and forms. It allows you to customise your furniture.

        Applications of the Veneered MDF Panels

        In most cases, veneered MDF utilised in internal applications. The boards used in domestic functions such as:

        • Making of the office furniture;
        • Panel moulding;
        • Fitting of kitchen cabinets;
        • Making of fire surrounds;
        • Assembly of dining sets.

        Because of the smooth characteristic of MDF veneer sheets, they highly sought after sheets for decorations.

        Conclusion

        The MDF veneer sheets have a myriad of features that make them ideal for domestic use. Regardless of where and how you use the veneered MDF board, you will always get the best results. It is, without a doubt, an excellent alternative for wood.

        • Important; Avoid using any strong chemicals which may dull the surface over time.
